ABANTU for Development is thrilled to announce the successful facilitation of a transformative 3-day Training and Capacity Building event on Gender-Responsive Nature-Based Solutions at the Palm Camayenne Hotel in Conakry Guinea. This groundbreaking activity, part of our NBS Guinean Forests project, was implemented in partnership with the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI), our cherished implementing partner in Guinea.
During this impactful event, we engaged key stakeholders on feminist advocacy approaches for Climate Justice. Participants specifically built their capacity in areas such as exploring gender concepts and approaches, conducting gender analysis and climate change, and mastering advocacy and lobbying techniques.
As part of the workshop, two climate adaptation interventions were identified for collective implementation, underscoring our commitment to driving positive change. This workshop solidifies ABANTU’s presence in Francophone West Africa as a Pan-African Women’s rights organization, demonstrating our dedication to empowering women’s voices in climate justice.
Special thanks to our team leads, Grace Ampomaa Afrifa, the ABANTU-NBS Guinean Forests Project Gender Equality Advisor, and Mary Akromah, our Senior Programme Officer, for their expertise and dedication!
Stay tuned for updates on a similar workshop in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire this week.
Together, we are making strides towards a more inclusive and just approach to climate action.
